Application
The M6300 series Magnetel® Rough Rider® gauges are designed to withstand the vibration and shock inherent in mobile service. Their service life in both on-highway and off-road transports, carrying liquids like crude oil, is unsurpassed. Models 6339M11 and 6342M11 are intended for on-highway service applications. Models 6339M12 and 6342M12 are intended for both on-highway and off-road, including crude oil and/or water service applications. The Magnetel® Rough Rider® gauges are designed for working pressures ranging from atmospheric to 450 [31 Bar] psig.
General Information & Features
The Magnetel® Rough Rider® gauges are to be installed in the side or end of mobile tanks at the centerline. They are equipped with an exclusive spring-controlled shock absorber on the float arm which substantially reduces the stress that quickly destroys conventional gauges. Angle mounting gauges are also available.
These gauges allow a continuous reading between 5% and 95% of tank contents. When necessary, the dials are easily replaceable.
The 6339M incorporates a 4″ [100 mm] dial.
The 6342M incorporates an 8″ [200 mm] dial.
The 63xxM12 models are made of 300 series stainless steel, with the Alnico magnet fully enclosed in a stainless-steel housing. (Including Counterbalance). 6339M12 models include as standard a heavy-duty support tube, making them suitable for hauling crude oil, either on or off highway.
The 63xxM11 models incorporate a plated steel counterbalance and an Alnico magnet with all other wetted parts made of 300 series stainless-steel. (Except Counterbalance).

When Ordering Specify:
1. Liquid to be gauged and specific gravity.
2. Inside diameter of tank heads: ellipsoidal, semi-ellipsoidal or hemispherical.
3. Complete model number desired from price list 6300 (example M6342-11).
4. Prefix letters for available options fromprice list 6300.
5. If a dial other than standard are required, furnish drawing and/or details.
6. Furnish tank drawings whenever ordering gauges for angle-mounting or for installation in vertical tanks.
7. If tank mounting flange is required, order separately from chart above.

Accuracy
Accuracy of Magnetel gauge dial indication estimated ±10% as a percent of full scale. Accuracy depends upon proper gauge sizing. Accuracy may be less for some tank shapes and sizes. Accuracy may be less near full and empty. Accuracy may be less if tank is not level. This gauge is not to be used for filling.
Caution: This gauge is not a substitute for an automatic overfill prevention device, which may be required for filling. This gauge is not to be used as an unattended means of determining tank overfilling. This document does not provide instructions for tank filling. Periodic annual operability checks may be required which are necessary to detect gauge malfunctions and/or inaccurate gauge readings. Gauge accuracy depends upon proper gauge sizing and installation. Release of tank contents as well as damage and safety hazard may result if tank is overfilled. Fuel exhaustion may occur if tank contents are less than indicated.
Precaution for LPG and NH3: Accurate measurement of Liquefied-Petroleum Gas (LPG), or Anhydrous Ammonia (NH3), requires converting a volume measured at an observed temperature to the volume at a standard base temperature of 60°F. LP Gas is usually a mixture of propane, butane and possibly other gases, so the conversion factor is usually determined from a chart when the specific gravity of the LP Gas is at 60°F is known.
